The Benefits of Microneedling
(Percutaneous Induction Needling, also referred to as PCIT, Percutaneous Collagen Induction Therapy)
We now have Collagen P.I.N. – What is that? Collagen P.I.N. stands for Percutaneous Collagen Induction Therapy (also sometimes referred to as dermal or microneedling). Collagen P.I.N. is the newest form of microneedling treatment. It uses a disposable microneedle cartridge containing 36 micro-needles, rpm’s that go up to 23,000, and operator controls which provide for the most customized and effective needling treatment available. Also, our new Collagen P.I.N. goes to a depth from .05 to 3ml (most other microneedling devices only go to 2 ml), which can effectively treat deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, stretch marks or any type of scar.
There are many advantages to microneedling. These include lower cost and shortened downtime when compared to Active or Deep FX C02 Laser resurfacing. Most often, microneedling is done as a series of 3-6 treatments. We have single pricing and package pricing. A microneedling facial treatment often involves the whole face or half-face. Furthermore, needling is a very effective way to rejuvenate the skin of the upper chest or décolletage. Collagen P.I.N. also allows for greater skin penetration of active ingredients in the time period when the skin is most porous after the needling. This window of opportunity is generally around 24-36 hours.
Why Collagen P.I.N. is Used
There are many microneedling benefits. Plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and other aesthetic providers choose Collagen P.I.N. for the following reasons:
- Safety First! Collagen P.I.N. is inherently safer than dermal rollers, utilizing sterile single-use surgical grade disposable needle tips. The P.I.N. Safety Micro-needle Cartridge ensures that Collagen P.I.N. delivers greater efficiency and superior clinical results while maintaining the highest level of safety for both patient and provider. It is also safe for ALL skin types which means this procedure can benefit anyone!
- Faster Truly is Better! Collagen P.I.N.’s powerful motor means quick needle penetration. This creates a more comfortable experience that patients describe as a vibrating tickle.
- Customized Treatment for Each Patient! Each patient’s skin is different and has unique needs for its betterment. Because the 3mm needle depth is adjustable, Collagen P.I.N. providers can customize your treatment to your individual needs.
Does Microneedling Work?
Yes and here is how: A professional applies a topical serum to clean skin (in most cases your practitioner will use a hyaluronic acid). This helps the Collagen P.I.N. Safety Micro-Needle Cartridge glide smoothly across the skin’s surface while creating thousands of micro-channels every second. The channels help stimulate the skin’s own natural healing process, while simultaneously delivering Hyaluronic Acid (HA) – the building blocks for healthy new skin.
Your practitioner will select the appropriate needle depth and number of passes required to properly treat your concerns based upon your individual skin health and skin regimen.
Not only is microneedling great for acne scars, but the Collagen P.I.N. Safety Micro-Needle also provides “flawless” results on the following:
Results Without Downtime
Induction Therapies is proud to offer a NO DOWNTIME ™ Forever Warranty because the skin’s repair process begins immediately upon treatment. Fibroblasts – the cells that synthesize new collagen – are active for up to as much as one year after just one Collagen P.I.N. treatment. New collagen and elastin produce younger, healthier, plumper, and firmer skin, effectively reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars for an overall better tone and texture.

This is the microneedling treatment recommended for just above the eye. This will help to tighten the tissue above and below the brow, and in many cases will create a slight lift effect.
The practitioner makes single linear passes both vertically and horizontally to treat the area. A third pass is made diagonally, or small circular motions are used for the third pass to focus on areas of concern. These concerns include deep lines or wrinkles, acne scars, sun spots, large pores, etc.
The practitioner makes single linear passes vertically then horizontally on the upper left forehead. A third pass could be made horizontally if deemed necessary, or small circular motions are often used for a 3rd pass for scars (acne or other), over sized pores, overall tone & texture, etc.
Lip and Nasal Area
The practitioner makes small circular passes as well as linear passes when treating the upper lip, lower lip lines, and nasal area, as well as the nasal labial folds. This small circular motion helps to diffuse any discomfort that the patient might be feeling, if ANY. If the patient receives the proper topical numbing agent, most report a pain level of 1 – 2, or 3 – 4 at most on a scale of 1 – 10.
The nose can be a tough area to treat with a microneedling pen. Similar to the forehead, a good portion of the treatment zone is directly against the bone, which could possibly be uncomfortable for the patient if the proper topical numbing agent isn’t selected. Extra care needs to be taken when working directly on the bridge of the nose.
